Ragtime

The affinity between music and architecture remains largely unexplored. Take musical notation and architectural drawings for example. Both are a set of instructions intended to produce form - one auditory, the other physical. 

Ragtime, a style of music that was hugely popular at the start of the 20th century, is known for its lively syncopated rhythms. Here, the gigantic leaps of Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag are captured in a set of photos that explore both the auditory and physical presence of music.
